The speech will be done in active, fun way so that the participants won’t get tired and will be active all the time. The text might change based on the rules of conduct of the debate․

Good morning everyone and welcome to our debate project. We have gathered all together to have a big, huge, great and passionate discussion. /Some sentences between these speeches to keep the groups active/

So, today’s topic is: Should teenagers live with or without their parents? And the discussion will be hosted by me-Ari Agop and Hayk Ghazaryan. Thank you for your great energy, everyone. What a modern topic, isn’t it? It’s something new in our country as it has come from Europe and, let’s say, is spreading widely in Armenia.

So, let me introduce you to our participants. With big applauses, let’s greet the group who came up with the idea of the debate-Mrs. Anjela’s English group and its members. And, with great energy, let’s greet the group who willingly offered the topic of our discussion, dear everyone, Mrs. Irina’s English group and its students.

And within 45 minutes, we’ll decide which side is braver, intelligent and sensible. So, be active, don’t get nervous, the environment is friendly, and be very attentive. Don’t forget about the mutual respect: do not interrupt others’ speeches, otherwise they may get nervous, and the group might lose. Let the speaker finish with the speech and then do your comments: agreements or disagreements.

Before we start, I’m going to ask you some warm-up questions to get you active. So, be ready for the first question. And our first question is:

  1. Do you consider yourself an independent person? Why/why not? OK, who wants to start? Who’s the bravest? /Discussion/
  2. Do you prefer spending your free time alone, with your family or friends? Why? /Discussion/
  3. On the scale, from one to ten, how active you are in the family? (Do you help your family? Are you active in family events?) /Discussion/

OK, now that we’ve heard many different ideas and are partly familiar with the discussion topic, let’s move on to our biggest question, for which we’ve all gathered today: so, should teenagers live with or without their parents? /Discussion/

Notice: The participants will be given some questions between this discussion too, and after that, the results will be announced. And the debate will be over with my closing speech.
